郭鳳軒女士在1886年中國清朝年間,出生於廣東省一個官宦之家。於1897年,她到香港堅道一間天主教女子中學唸書。青少年期間,當她聽見倫敦傳道會所傳的福音後便決志歸主,其後在聖約翰座堂中受洗。郭女士畢業後便在何啟爵士手下工作。何啟爵士正是她父親郭子庭在香港中伸書院時的舊同學,也是香港第一位被按立的華人牧師何福堂之子。她幫助何啟爵士在1906年成立了聖士提反女子中學,之後亦曾在聖士提反女子中學及英華女學校任教。||郭凤轩女士在1886年中国清朝年间,出生于广东省一个官宦之家。于1897年,她到香港坚道一间天主教女子中学念书。青少年期间,当她听见伦敦传道会所传的福音后便决志归主,其后在圣约翰座堂中受洗。郭女士毕业后便在何启爵士手下工作。何启爵士正是她父亲郭子庭在香港中伸书院时的旧同学,也是香港第一位被按立的华人牧师何福堂之子。她帮助何启爵士在1906年成立了圣士提反女子中学,之后亦曾在圣士提反女子中学及英华女学校任教。||Miss Alice Fung-Hin KWOK was born in 1886 to one of the Ching Dynasty officer families in Canton of China. She went to Hong Kong in 1897 to study in a Catholic girls′ high school on Caine Road. When she heard the Gospel preached by the London Missionary Society (LMS), she accepted Christ and was baptized at St John′s Cathedral in her teenage year. After graduation, Miss Kwok worked under one of her late father Kwok Chi-Ting′s former classmates at HK Central College, Sir Dr. Ho Kai, son of Rev. Ho Fuk-Tong who was the first ordained Chinese pastor in Hong Kong. Miss Kwok assisted him to found St. Stephen′s Girls′ College (SSGC) in 1906. Miss Kwok later taught at SSGC as well as Ying Wah Girl′s College (YWGC).

郭女士活躍於香港教會當中,分別在1911年及1918年,協助建立香港聖公會聖保羅堂及成為香港基督教女青年會(YWCA)的創會董事之一。在1921年,當香港大學開校十年後,她更致力提倡大學收錄女生。隨後,郭女士入讀倫敦政治經濟學院進修教育學、護理學及社會工作學。在倫敦期間,郭女士因曾協助眾多的香港留學生而為人所知。她亦是她三個姨甥郭慶楷、郭慶深及郭亦明在英國留學期間的監護人。郭慶楷和郭慶深是首批在劍橋大學修讀法律的華人,而郭亦明則主修英文。||郭女士活跃于香港教会当中,分别在1911年及1918年,协助建立香港圣公会圣保罗堂及成为香港基督教女青年会(YWCA)的创会董事之一。在1921年,当香港大学开校十年后,她更致力提倡大学收录女生。随后,郭女士入读伦敦政治经济学院进修教育学、护理学及社会工作学。在伦敦期间,郭女士因曾协助众多的香港留学生而为人所知。她亦是她三个姨甥郭庆楷、郭庆深及郭亦明在英国留学期间的监护人。郭庆楷和郭庆深是首批在剑桥大学修读法律的华人,而郭亦明则主修英文。||Miss Kwok was active in church in Hong Kong and helped to plant the SKH ST. Paul′s Cathedral in 1911. She was also one of the founding directors to establish the Young Women′s Christian Association (YWCA) in 1918. Miss Kwok advocated for the University of Hong Kong to admit women students in 1921, after 10 years of the university′s opening. Miss Kwok attended the London School of Economics to further study Education, Nursing and Social Work. During her years in London, she was known for helping many overseas students from Hong Kong. She was also the guardian of three family members: two nephews, Peter Hing-Kai Kwok and Frank Hing-Sum Kwok, both of whom were among the first Chinese Law students at Cambridge University; and niece Rose Yik-Ming Kwok who was studying English.

當郭女士在1932年卸下教職後,便擔任香港基督教女青年會般含道宿舍的總幹事。基督教女青年會是一個以基督教為本的機構,致力為到社區中的婦女尋找工作及住處,除藉著不同的社交活動及娛樂節目去接觸她們外亦同時透過舉辦以基督教原則為基礎的教育講座與她們分享福音。郭女士一直在青年會單身女子宿舍居住及工作,直至1958年退休為止。她是宿舍的首批基督教華人女社監之一。在世界第二次大戰期間,郭女士更在女青年會成立聖約翰救傷隊去照顧受傷者及拯教了不少香港人的性命。||当郭女士在1932年卸下教职后,便担任香港基督教女青年会般含道宿舍的总干事。基督教女青年会是一个以基督教为本的机构,致力为到社区中的妇女寻找工作及住处,除借着不同的社交活动及娱乐节目去接触她们外亦同时透过举办以基督教原则为基础的教育讲座与她们分享福音。郭女士一直在青年会单身女子宿舍居住及工作,直至1958年退休为止。她是宿舍的首批基督教华人女社监之一。在世界第二次大战期间,郭女士更在女青年会成立圣约翰救伤队去照顾受伤者及拯教了不少香港人的性命。||After her teaching career, Miss Kwok accepted the appointment as Executive Director of the YWCA Bonham Road Residence in 1932. YWCA was a Christian organization aimed at helping women find work and lodging, reaching out to mothers and wives through social activities and recreational programs, as well as preaching the gospel through their educational seminars based on Christian principles. Miss Kwok worked and lived in the YWCA residence as one of the first Chinese Christian lady Warden for the residents of single women until her retirement in 1958. She initiated the formation of St. John′s Ambulance under YWCA and led a first aid team during World War II to take care of the wounded and save many lives in HK.

當大戰結束後,郭女士參與女青年會位於香港麥當勞道一號總部的發展。此總部落成後為到單身女子提供的外展設施包括一個社區禮堂,體育館及宿舍。她的外甥郭慶深是Johnson, Strokes & Master 律師事務所的創辦人之一;他跟隨郭女士的榜樣為到很多的教會、學校及社區提供義務性的法律服務。而郭慶深已故的太太郭王鏡清女士在五十年代亦曾擔任女青年會董事會的義務主席。||当大战结束后,郭女士参与女青年会位于香港麦当劳道一号总部的发展。此总部落成后为到单身女子提供的外展设施包括一个社区礼堂,体育馆及宿舍。她的外甥郭庆深是Johnson, Strokes & Master 律师事务所的创办人之一;他跟随郭女士的榜样为到很多的教会、学校及社区提供义务性的法律服务。而郭庆深已故的太太郭王镜清女士在五十年代亦曾担任女青年会董事会的义务主席。||After the War ended, Miss Kwok was involved in the development of the YWCA headquarters located on 1 Macdonald Road with a large community hall, gymnasium and residence outreach for single women. Her nephew, Frank Kwok, one of the three co-founders of the law firm Johnson, Strokes & Master, followed her example and volunteered legal service to many churches, schools and communities in need. Frank′s wife, the late Virginia Tsing-Ching Wang Kwok, was also a volunteer serving as President of the YWCA Board of Directors in 1950s.

除此之外,郭女士更參與成立香港聖雅各福群會及聖公會聖基道兒童院。福群會在五十年代為到從中國逃難到香港的難民提供服務。而聖基道是一所位於大埔的基督教孤兒院。郭女士亦在孤兒院四鄰捐獻了大量土地作建設之用。||除此之外,郭女士更参与成立香港圣雅各福群会及圣公会圣基道儿童院。福群会在五十年代为到从中国逃难到香港的难民提供服务。而圣基道是一所位于大埔的基督教孤儿院。郭女士亦在孤儿院四邻捐献了大量土地作建设之用。||Miss Kwok was also involved in the setting up of the St. James Settlement of Hong Kong, an outreach service for refugee families coming from China during the 1950s. She also started the SKH St. Christopher′s home, a Christian orphanage located at Tai Po, to which she donated many acres of land surrounding the orphanage.

郭女士為到教育、護理、社會工作及服務獻上一生。她沒有結婚,但在哥哥郭幼廷十個孩子的心中,她是最受喜愛的姑姐,也是十一個姪孫所愛的姑婆。她是在郭氏家族中第一個由天主教歸信基督徒的成員。她的影響遠逹至住在香港、加拿大及美國郭氏第五代的成員。||郭女士为到教育、护理、社会工作及服务献上一生。她没有结婚,但在哥哥郭幼廷十个孩子的心中,她是最受喜爱的姑姐,也是十一个姪孙所爱的姑婆。她是在郭氏家族中第一个由天主教归信基督徒的成员。她的影响远逹至住在香港、加拿大及美国郭氏第五代的成员。||Miss Kwok devoted her life to education, nursing, social work and community service. Never married, among the 10 children of her older brother Peter Kingson Yau-Ting Kwok, Aunt Alice was the favourite aunt of the Kwok family. She was also the beloved Grandaunt of 11 grand nephews and nieces. She was the first of the Kwok family who converted from Catholic to Protestant and her influence was passed along to the fifth generation of Christians now living in Hong Kong, Canada, and the USA.

在郭女士的年代中,她是少數華人女性有著基督教信仰及大學教育程度,亦同時精通中英文化及語言。她無論是在教會圈子,政府官員以及非宗教社會團體中都是備受尊重。她亦是在中學福音運動中華人女學生所尊稱之「Auntie Alice」。郭女士是在當時英屬香港社會中多個團體,如華人基督教教師、護士、社工、教會及社區領䄂等,其中的一個先鋒。她畢生在社區的服事及志願工作為華人基督社工界帶來深遠的影響。為了表揚她的貢獻,她被委任為太平紳士,是香港第一位華人基督徒女士獲得這殊榮。這個身份讓她更能服務在社區邊緣的人士,例如能夠探望在監獄的囚犯、在警局內被拘留的人士、以及要面對法院審訊的疑犯等。||在郭女士的年代中,她是少数华人女性有着基督教信仰及大学教育程度,亦同时精通中英文化及语言。她无论是在教会圈子,政府官员以及非宗教社会团体中都是备受尊重。她亦是在中学福音运动中华人女学生所尊称之「Auntie Alice」。郭女士是在当时英属香港社会中多个团体,如华人基督教教师、护士、社工、教会及社区领䄂等,其中的一个先锋。她毕生在社区的服事及志愿工作为华人基督社工界带来深远的影响。为了表扬她的贡献,她被委任为太平绅士,是香港第一位华人基督徒女士获得这殊荣。这个身份让她更能服务在社区边缘的人士,例如能够探望在监狱的囚犯、在警局内被拘留的人士、以及要面对法院审讯的疑犯等。||In her time, she was considered to be one of few Chinese ladies with the Christian faith and university education, while still proficient in both English and Chinese language and culture. She was respected in the church circle, among government officials and in non-religious social communities. She was popularly called ″Auntie Alice″ by the Chinese girl students in the high school evangelical movement. Miss Kwok was among one of the pioneer Chinese Christian teachers, nurses, social workers as well as church and community leaders in the British Colony Hong Kong at that time. Her life-long dedication to community services and voluntary work had a great impact on the Chinese Christian social service field. In recognition of her contributions, Miss Kwok was appointed as one of the first Chinese Christian ladies J. P. (Justice of the Peace) in Hong Kong. This appointment enabled her to widen her service to the underprivileged, such as visiting inmates in prison, those in custody by local police, and those facing trial at local law courts.

郭女士在1967年12月29日於雅麗氏何妙齡紀念醫院中安詳離世,留下的遺產全數捐給香港聖公會。聖公會亦將其中一個最早成立的服務中心命名為聖公會樂民郭鳳軒綜合服務中心。此服務中心仍然為到在香港的邊緣人士及貧苦百姓服務。郭女士畢生的奉獻成為郭氏後人的榜樣及啟發,其中包括她的姨甥女郭亦章女士。郭亦章女士一生慷慨樂捐,她2018年安息主懷後的遺產也同樣地奉獻給教會及機構。||郭女士在1967年12月29日于雅丽氏何妙龄纪念医院中安详离世,留下的遗产全数捐给香港圣公会。圣公会亦将其中一个最早成立的服务中心命名为圣公会乐民郭凤轩综合服务中心。此服务中心仍然为到在香港的边缘人士及贫苦百姓服务。郭女士毕生的奉献成为郭氏后人的榜样及启发,其中包括她的姨甥女郭亦章女士。郭亦章女士一生慷慨乐捐,她2018年安息主怀后的遗产也同样地奉献给教会及机构。||Miss Kwok passed away peacefully at the Alice Ho Miu-Ling Memorial Hospital on 29 Dec 1967, leaving her entire estate donated to the Anglican Church of Hong Kong. The church named one of the first social service centres building after her as ″SKH Lok Man Alice Kwok Integrated Service Centre″ which is still serving the underprivileged, the poor and the needy in Hong Kong today. Her legacies influenced and inspired many generations of the Kwok family including her youngest niece, the late Elizabeth Yik-Cheung Kwok, who made generous donations to churches and charities in Canada during her lifetime and after she went to be with the Lord in 2018.
